Isaac at the 2008 Prouty

The 28th Annual Prouty Century Bike Ride & Challenge Walk will be held on July 11, 2009 in Hanover, New Hampshire. Laura, Andy, Isaac, and Naomi will be walking 5K (Naomi will likely be riding in a baby backpack!) in memory of Mary Ager, Isaac and Naomi’s much-loved and much-missed Grandma, who lost her battle with cancer on April 23, 2008, and Isaac and Naomi’s Great-Uncle Richard Page, whom we lost in December 2000.

This year, our goal is to raise $1000! Last year, with the help of friends and family, we raised $770 (in 2007 we raised $640, and in 2006 we raised $425). You can sponsor us right now by clicking below. All donations are tax deductible and should be turned in by July 8.

24 1/4 inches long
50th percentile in everything!

Almost-Six-Weeks Stats; Neville

For Naomi, of course. She’s now 9 lbs, 15 oz. Wow! That’s 12 oz. in just the past week. Go girl!

In Isaac news, he’s created a brand-new imaginary friend, as of yesterday morning. His name is Neville (Neville is also a Thomas & Friends character), and he’s “my black friend.” Note: Neville the train happens to be painted black, too. (As an aside, here’s a recent article about imaginary friends and child development.)

Strangely, I think, for an imaginary friend, Neville needs to “come over” from “his house” in order to play; we’re trying to convince Isaac that he can have Neville over whenever he wants, but that Mommy and Daddy can’t see him. This may take some time, but it’s pretty fascinating.

A New Nation for Our Children

It is difficult to express the joy I feel that our children will get to grow up in a nation led by President Barack Obama. They will know a world very different from what I knew, and it looks like it will be, in many ways, a better one.

For a while, I wasn’t sure about that. But I am now.

A few changes

Wow, so Naomi is three weeks old today! Fittingly, it’s taken this long to make a few changes to the site, reflecting the fact there there are now TWO children in the house. Eventually, Dad will be able to shift over to a URL that’s more reflective of that as well, but that requires slightly more forethought, coordination, and passwords than he has at hand at the moment.

A title change, theme change, and the addition of a Naomi-centric badge will have to do for now. A few tweaks more, and we’ll have this year’s “jumping in the leaves” pics and movies posted…
