So there’s the little guy, strolling towards a leaf pile (see videos below). Note stylish black turtleneck that he chose himself that day! He has a lot of fun playing in the yard, kicking soccer balls around, rolling his trucks all over, pushing the stroller by himself, and now, jumping in leaves. He also enjoys helping Mom and Dad with yardwork! (Also note our newly painted house in the background.)

We’re doing the Prouty again this year, walking 10K (Isaac will ride in his stroller) to raise money for research at Dartmouth’s Norris Cotton Cancer Center. Last year we raised $425 and we’re trying to top that in 2007 with a goal of $500. Click here if you’d like to contribute.
We’re walking in honor of Isaac’s Grandma Mary, a three-time cancer survivor, in memory of Isaac’s Great-uncle Richard Page, and in honor and memory of many other friends and family. Sadie and her family will be joining us as part of the Upper Valley Beer Society team!

We’re literate folks, of course, as both mommy and daddy have been sustained on a steady diet of New Yorkers since time immemorial. We hope that if Isaac shares our love of things erudite, he might express himself like the purported readers in this piece from McSweeney’s (a favorite humor site among internet belles lettres): Letters to the Editor of Babybug, a Magazine for Readers Age 6 Months to 2 Years. My favorite line: “the jarring deus ex machina so crudely inserted into ‘Monkey’s Birthday Party’ was, for me, the limit.”

Isaac is now in his second week of attending a new daycare, Mimo. Suffice to say he loves it! His initial provider was wonderful, and cared well for him, but he was getting too rambunctious to be cooped up all day. At Mimo, he now has lots of outdoor play time, more structured activities, more toddlers his own age (and older and younger), and a more stimulating environment. We already notice the difference when he comes home — pretty much exhausted in the “lots of fun all day long” way. Plus, he gets to be back in school with his friend Sadie again!
No pictures at Mimo yet, but here are some from last weekend, when Dan and I were brewing, and the kids were playing in spots not occupied by open flame:

Toddler cage match.

Chilling on the chairs.

Sharing a bag of Veggie Booty on the steps.

Suffice to say he’s kept us busy. In the meantime, enjoy yet more selected photos of Mr. Isaac from the last 6 weeks or so…
